A new organization is taking shape in South Carolina: the South Carolina Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network (“WREN” for short). The organization’s mission is to build a movement to advance health, economic well-being, and the rights of South Carolina’s women and girls through advocacy, education, and empowerment tools. See www.scwren.org/about.
I had the wonderful opportunity this week to meet WREN’s CEO, Ann Warner, who is a graduate of both Wellesley and Columbia University, and has moved to Columbia, SC, from Washington, DC, where she worked for the International Center for Research on Women for the last four years. Ann is an amazing woman, and I look forward to participating in her vision for WREN.
WREN will launch on October 6, 2016, at The Hall at Senate’s End. Go here for more information: http://www.scwren.org/columbialaunch
