The 19th Amendment

Today is the 96th Anniversary of the formal adoption of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which recognizes a woman’s right to vote.  The 19th Amendment reads:

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.

As Susan B. Anthony stated, “There never will be complete equality until women themselves help to make laws and elect lawmakers.”
